It is useless to think there will be consequences to the botters/leechers. Most people that play FA i have seen dont even report leechers even when there are 3 on one team at a time. They are truly lazy and most of them don't care anyway. As far as follow bots, i have seen one person( name excluded) Running a follow bot in FA for well over 4 months and I know for a fact that he gets reported every single match that I'm in and as well as others stating they did as well. Obviously I must be some type of macro scripting thing and Anet doesn't get much of a damn anymore anyway.

No one cares, I don't really think Anet cares about banning bots all that much. They know GW is dying, so they are caring less and less.......adding salt to the already festering wound.
But I do gotta say, a moving bot is better than a stationary one.....one more choice for the enemy to choice to attack....not "too" bad i have to say. ;D

That's why I said to implement punishment for consecutive dishonors. Typically if someone gets reported for some false reason it is usually a one off thing and the dishonor doesn't last that long anyway. However if the same individual gets dishonor like 10 times in one day then there probably is a good reason for it. Say for example, if you get dishonor more than 3 times a day you get banned from pvp for the rest of the day..that would discourage the serial leechers at least

That still doesn't change that fact that they can report any time they see you in game. If they wanted to get people banned whats to stop them from adding you to there list and any time they see you in game report you. If someone gets pissed off enough they will do anything to seek revenge on the other person. And its all anonymous so you don't know who reported you unless they tell you other wise. So making the punishments harsher will only hurt other players who are not leaching but getting reported by stupid people. Maybe if we lived in a perfect world where people don't do any wrong your stricter punishment might work but if that was the case there wouldn't be the need for a reporting system.

Lol failwars. I've seen some bots be more productive than actual players so I'm not really complaining. I'd rather a bot follow me around than a human player go work on their cartography title in FA or JA

You can't get dishonor if just one person reports you. You need at least half the team to do so. If the same person keeps reporting they themselves will get dishonor anyway. And, if they instigate others or talk **** about you, you can report them for harrassment.
And if a lot of different people report you.. you probably did something to piss them off. Please don't give people reasons to report you.

Good idea......but we shouldn't HAVE to leave, the bots need to be cleaned out. Why can't undercover GMs play in these bot-reported areas and witness them for themselves?

But the botters still aren't losing anything (except one day's worth of electricity bills).

Actually no, they are botting to build up faction. If they can't get on for one day, then their profitability goes way down - reduce that benefit and the risk/reward equation goes out the door.

Exactly my point. If they're so concerned with gold sellers and botting, why can't they do this! These bots build up faction over the whole day - which probably adds up to an easy 20k faction in a couple hours of doing nothing. Now maybe this is just people being lazy and maxing their titles... even still they should be banned. Those same people are probably botting other things, and buying gold, and cheating in all the ways they can get away with to get ahead. I'm surprised we haven't heard of a bot program that runs the strength of snow quest already... if it ran for the entire festival you'd almost be guaranteed at least 1 polar bear. These things are frickin easy to spot - why are they still there?

Yep, stop the botters doing HFF and they just move to the next thing.. shame that anet did not just ban the HFF botters (properly) in the first place..anet wont do anything, they dont care about the game being broken in such ways.

Well, people need to work on their cartography titles. I was doing this just yesterday. Out of consideration for my alliance faction, I did it from the opposing side. And I did kill a leecher I found skulking in a corner. However, even if I wasn't trying to find the last 0.1% of Cantha, you still don't want me in JQ or FA. I have no idea what to do there.

Nothing will ever be done to the bots. Why?
/report is completely useless. Nobody takes it seriously because it does nothing.
Think the bots will get banned for breaking the rules? Wrong. Remember what happened to the HFFF bots?

I found this bot-watch project on Ms Gaile's talk page.
Please use this page to report areas in which you're seeing a large number of bots. Identify as follows:
* Date
* Time and timezone
* Map Name, such as Marhan's Grotto
* District, such as Europe - Italy - District #1; International District #1
* Observation: Botting; gold sellers; etc.
* Please note: While we don't want you to list individual player character names (use /report to let us know about those), you are free to list the names of gold-selling companies that you see advertising in the game.
Thanks so much for your help!

You can make very simple and easy bots using programs such as AutoIt (which is free). It's a simple scripting language that takes a few minutes to learn, and just cycles through commands that control key strokes, mouse clicks and cursor position. It's as simple as "Move mouse to position where leader would be, left click, press space bar, move cursor where "accept" is, left click, repeat script". And yes, it is common knowledge to anyone who pursues botting, so it's not like I'm out here teaching everyone the secrets of botting.

Warriors from the guild GoPK on the luxon's side are bots too...they are moving, attacking, using skill...but they all do the same path/skill's combination...but they will never move from an AoE spell like Ray of Judgment. They are following the first target they see... screenshot as evidence... i really hope Anet will do something about bots/leechers in JQ/AB/FA

Wow, a whole bunch of follow bots in one match - epic. Seriously... something needs to be done about this. I don't go there often but when I do, I always run into these things.
